News / army camouflage
This pair of Adidas NMD_R1 was originally the Trace Green color way. This client wanted to transform the simple green pair of shoes to pay homage to the iconic collaboration between BAPE and Adidas, Adidas Originals by BAPE. Colors were specifically chosen and hand mixed to make sure to match and replicate the exact tones of the BAPE camo pattern.
I'm selling these for a limited time here >>> https://bstreetshoes.com/products/bape-inspired-custom-painted-adidas-nmd-r1?variant=48256387477
BAPE is a Japanese clothing brand founded in 1993 by the Japanese fashion designer Nigo. The name "BAPE" is a reference to "a bathing ape in lukewarm water." It is considered a "complacently overindulgence" in the Japanese culture to bathe in lukewarm water, thus, indirectly making "...a reference to the lazy opulence of the younger generation of the Japanese..." which is the company's primarily targeted audience and customer demographic. The popular and iconic Adidas Originals by BAPE is a highly sought after hybrid NMD R1 sneaker that is only a portion of "...a collection that blends the design motifs and iconography of both brands effortlessly." The decision to combine the BAPE iconic camouflage and Adidas' 3-stripes mark comes together to form an "...instilling and instantly classic aesthetic of streetwear royalty and technical contemporary sportswear."
