Sneaker Con Los Angeles and Ace Of Customs Competition

Last weekend I drove from my home in Newport Beach to Downtown Los Angeles to check out Sneaker Con and the Ace of Customs Competiton. As always, there was a huge selection of rare sneakers for sale. Prices ranged from $50-$18,000 for a pair of shoes.  You can always count on the Supreme foamposites to cost $700, and the rare Jordan's to cost the same.

The event was star studded. Wale, Kevin Durant and Snoop Dogg were a few of the celebrities taking part in the celebrity basketball game hosted by Sprite at the BET Experience.

I had the chance to meet Legendary Sneaker Customizer Kickasso and discuss he K_O brand, limited runs and production time. We talked about the changes in his business over the last year, his plans for this year and his recent move to DTLA.

The 3 artists in the Ace Of Customs Competition hosted by sprite were @adrianscustoms , @deadstk86 and @justwincustoms . Each artist was given a pair of Lebron 12's to paint. They had 5 hours to complete. Each artist was required to pick a song lyric from one of the Sprite sponsored artists and paint the shoes based on that lyric. @adrianscustoms took it home with special details to the sneaker inserts, and good color combinations.
