February is fast approaching, and with that comes the stream of Valentines day planning and love in the air. But we can’t forget and need to appreciate what February is truly known for; Black History Month.
In honor of Black History month, we’re showcasing our very own pair of social justice shoes revolving around prominent figures in the African American Community. On these pair of Adidas Top Ten Hi shoes, we have portraits of former first lady Michelle Obama, human rights activist Malcolm X, and American novelist James Baldwin.
To give a little background on these three important figures in history, we'll start with Michelle Obama. Known as the former first lady, a writer, and a lawyer, Michelle Obama has gone above and beyond for the United States. She's started countless charities, one of the most notable being "Let's Move!" Malcolm X was known for being an African American leader during the civil rights movement as well as a minister and supporter of black nationalism. James Baldwin was a novelist who explored racial and social issues in his work, as well as explaining the African American experience in America.
