We were commissioned by BEYOND to make a pair of custom Nike Air Force 1s for Flo Rida’s birthday, but the project came with some serious drama.
After finalizing the design, we stitched on his logo using Italian pebbled leather and swapped the factory Nike tongue tags for custom leather ones.
Then things got weird.
We were told his birthday was September 16th—and the internet confirmed it—so we stamped that date on the heels and shipped them out overnight. The next morning, our collaborators hit us up saying Flo Rida’s nephew called to let them know the internet was completely wrong: his actual birthday was September 17th.
They printed an overnight return label, handed it off to their team, and told them to rush the pair straight back to our studio. Except someone forgot to drop them off.
Monday morning rolled around, and they found the shoes still sitting in their office. They panicked and asked if there was still time for a revision. We said yes, had them overnighted immediately, corrected the heels to September 17th with a same-day turnaround, and got them delivered right in time.
