If you told 25-year-old me that painting sneakers could make a difference in the world, I never would’ve believed it.
Rethink Food is a chef led nonprofit that rescues excess food from restaurants and turns it into free hot restaurant quality meals for people in need. Since 2017, they have deployed over 30 million meals.
But their mission goes beyond feeding people—they also empower local restaurants. In cities like New York and Miami, Rethink Food shines a spotlight on chefs who step up to serve their own communities.
Two of those chefs are Rethink cofounder Daniel Humm and Daniel Boulud. Boulud even hosted a Service Dinner at Rethink Food's sustainable community kitchen to raise funds and expand the impact of cofounder Daniel Humm, Founder and CEO Matt Jozwiak and Culinary Director Ken Baker’s vision.
Feeding the hungry is always a worthy mission, and I’m grateful to have played a small part in this special project—supporting incredible chefs and the communities they nourish.
