This past spring we had the amazing opportunity to work with host, ghosthunter, detective, and Buzzfeed personality Ryan Bergara. For Mr. Bergara we made a custom pair of Steven Spielberg Movie inspired Jordans. One shoe themed around Back to the Future and the other shoe based off of E.T. Both shoes has our custom galaxy design from toe to heel. The Back to the Future shoe has a glowing flux capacitor on the heel with the quote “Don’t Need Roads” in the same font as the iconic movie poster title font. The E.T. shoe has the classic moon with the silhouette of the bicycle soaring through the sky with the quote “Right Here” in the white chalk-like font similar to the movie poster’s title.
Mr. Bergara himself came to visit the shoedio and helped design the giveaway shoes that we collaborated with him on for his Instagram contest celebrating the finale to his fifth season of the channel Buzzfeed Unsolved. He loved talking shop about the sneaker world but more importantly, he was excited to be so hands-on with the design process of the giveaway shoes. Mr. Bergara knew he wanted the shoes to have similar styles but be different in representing the Supernatural verses the True Crime themes of the channel’s episodes.
The right shoe was designed to the theme of the Supernatural episodes from the chanel. A misty, green, fog dances in the background as the names of the most formidable ghouls and demons are hand written over top it. There is also a blue “(wheeze)” on the back heel.
